AJRAKH

Ajrakh is a resist-dye block print built up in layers — indigo, madder root, iron — with the fabric washed and re-printed between each stage. The same family workshops in Kutch have practiced it for generations, and the geometric, star-like patterns are specific enough that you can often trace a print back to which village made it.

What draws us to it is the restraint in the palette: mostly indigo, red, black, and white, but built from entirely natural dyes rather than synthetic shortcuts.

We're sourcing this edit directly from block-printing families rather than mass reproductions of the pattern.
