GOTA PATTI

Placeholder essay — replace with your own words

Gota patti uses flattened gold or silver ribbon, folded and stitched directly onto fabric to form flowers, paisleys, and borders — no beading, no sequins, just metal ribbon shaped entirely with a needle. It's noticeably lighter than zari or zardozi embroidery, which is what made it popular for festive wear that still needed to be comfortable to move in.

Rajasthan is its home, and the technique has stayed remarkably consistent even as the motifs have modernized.

We like it for exactly that reason — festive shimmer without the weight, an easier everyday trade-off than heavier embroidery techniques.
