JAMDANI

Jamdani is woven, not embroidered — the motifs are built directly into the muslin as it's made, thread by thread, using small bobbins the weaver manipulates by hand alongside the main loom. It's one of the few textile techniques recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage, and it shows in how light the finished cloth is.

That lightness is the whole point. Jamdani was historically worn in Bengal's heat, which makes it one of the more genuinely wearable heritage weaves for a warm climate — including a UAE summer.

We're building this into pieces that let the weave itself be the detail, without piling embellishment on top of something already this considered.
