KALAMKARI
Kalamkari literally means 'pen work' — traditionally, artisans used a bamboo or date-palm stick sharpened into a pen to hand-paint mythological scenes and floral motifs directly onto cotton, using dyes derived from roots, flowers, and minerals. A block-printed version exists too, faster but still entirely natural-dye based.
What we find compelling is how narrative the craft originally was — entire epics painted panel by panel onto temple cloth. Our pieces borrow the motifs and technique without the literal storytelling scale, scaled down to something wearable.
This edit is early, built around artisans still using natural dyes rather than screen-printed imitations.
